Everything You Need to Know
Where you live off campus shapes the whole year, from how early you leave for a nine o'clock class to where you sit down to work on a Sunday. The 800 is at 800 Princess Street in Williamsville, the midtown stretch of Princess, which puts Queen's and St. Lawrence College about five minutes away in opposite directions and the everyday errands on the same block.
Leases start September 1, 2026, with 8-month terms available, so the lease runs with the academic year instead of past it.
Close to Queen's and St. Lawrence College
- —Queen's University. 2.5 km south, about five minutes by car and roughly ten on a bike, straight down Princess or across on University Avenue.
- —St. Lawrence College. 3.3 km west, about five minutes by car along Princess and Sir John A. Macdonald.
- —Kingston Transit. Express 501 and 502 run the Princess corridor every 15 minutes at peak, linking Kingston Centre, downtown, Queen's and Kingston General Hospital. The Division Street routes are two blocks east. Check the trip planner for exact times: the Williamsville corridor is under construction and the schedules are still moving.
Everything you need is on the block
- —Errands. Kingston Centre is 700 m west along Princess. The Beer Store, a Scotiabank and a Shoppers Drug Mart are closer than that, and Asian Food World is down the street at 639 Princess.
- —Eat and drink. Gaby's, Star Diner, Yellow River, Spelt Bakery, Daft Brewing and Gladstone's are all on the Princess blocks either side of the front door.
- —Health. Medical Arts Pharmacy is on the ground floor, with LifeLabs and an imaging clinic on the same block.
- —On foot. Walk Score rates the address 93, a Walker's Paradise, and Bike Score 83.
Built to study in
- —Your own everything. All 74 suites are new build-outs, each with its own kitchen, its own full washroom and its own hot water tank. Nothing is shared down a corridor.
- —Somewhere to work. The 1B and 1C plans carry a separate study and the 1D adds a den, so the desk does not have to live at the foot of the bed.
- —Furnished. Every studio comes with a Murphy bed, a table and chairs, a couch and a television, included in the rent. A one bedroom can be furnished the same way for $500 a month extra.
- —Quiet and secure. One controlled entry off Princess, an elevator to all five levels, and a midtown address that sits a few blocks clear of the student-house streets without being far from them.
Whether this is a first place off campus or a graduate student's next three years, The 800 was drawn as student housing rather than converted into it.
